Final reasons
Elfsborg against Trelleborg should be a clear home victory, if you look at the teams present form. The young Elfsborg team has secured some confidence after the summer break which has lifted them from the bottom region. Trelleborg are in the bottom of the table and the coach shift has not given the boost as they wanted. We fully believe that Elfsborg will take three new points today when they play against the worst away team in the league, and we put 3% on the home win
General comment about the game
Today Elfsborg welcomes Trelleborg to Ryavallen. These two teams have had totally different seasons. While Trelleborg started the season in a good manner, they now loose nearly every game. Elfsborg on the other hand experiences the total opposite. Elfsborg was the worst team in the beginning of the season but in the last seven rounds, they have managed five wins. Elfsborg played away to Glentoran in the UEFA cup qualification, this Thursday in a game as they won with 1-0. Prior that Elfsborg lost away to Helsingborg with 4-0. It seemed as if Elfsborg had the upcoming UEFA game in their heads, since they did not reach their normal standard. One other reason for the clear victory for Helsingborg was that Elfsborg had Joakim Alexandersson sent of already after 28 minutes. Looking at the other games Elfsborg has played after the summer break, everything has become much more stable. The defence has been much tighter with only one goal in the back in the six games prior the game against Helsingborg. Elfsborg has a young squad and a good guess is that that being on safer ground in the league, has been very good for their confidence and when they dare to play, the results has started to go their way. Joakim Alexandersson will be suspended today; no other absentees are reported from Elfsborg.
As stated, Trelleborg started the season in a very good way and many thought that they would have very good possibilities to stay in Allsvenskan also next year. But things have changed dramatically, since Trelleborg only managed to grab one single point in the last nine rounds. Things are not very well in Trelleborg and sacking the coach some weeks ago was not applauded by all the players. Neither did the team get any boost from the coach shift. In the last game Trelleborg played away to Malmö. Malmö was the best team but Trelleborg did a very good match and when they made the 2-2 goal with only ten minutes left of the game everything looked very promising for Trelleborg. However two late Malmö goals destroyed the day. Trelleborg will have Justice Cristopher suspended today, but no other players are reported as unavailable.
