Final reasons

The form team number one in Superettan Västerås looks too strong for the worst home team of them all, Falkenberg. Although Falkenberg was better than normally against GAIS in their latest game they should have little to put up against Västerås. Striker Stefan Bärlin seems to score goals for Västerås on every occasion and why shouldn’t he continue to score when he is up against a defence that has let in over 2,4 goals per match when playing at home. The odds are good here and we go for a similar bet as last week as we propose an Asian handicap -0,25 meaning we get half stake back in case of a draw. Medium stake, 3%.

General comment about the game

Tomorrow there are three games in the Swedish Superettan. Once again our attention has been drawn to ninth placed Västerås, who last round made a very good game against Frölunda and won 4-1. Prior that game we pointed out that one of the reasons that Västerås has started winning after a very bad start, is that Stefan Bärlin has found an excellent goal scoring form. Against Frölunda he made three goals which make it twelve goals in the last seven games. Västerås was 1-0 up at half time and should have been rewarded a penalty in the start of the second half. Instead of the penalty Frölunda went forward and could score the equaliser. After the equaliser Frölunda was quite strong for a while, but they could not score any more goals. After the short Frölunda period, Västerås showed their skills and made three more goals before the game was over. All in all a very decent game and it is impressive how strong Västerås is for the moment. This was their seventh win from the last eight games. The player situation in Västerås is very good; they do not have any suspended players against Falkenberg and no injuries are reported.

13th placed Falkenberg has their main focus set on the teams behind them. For the moment they reside just over the relegation zone but there is only few points differing between the bottom sides and for every round the positions shifts. Falkenberg is the worst home team in the league with only one point taken from the nine games played. Last game Falkenberg played away to an injury hit GAIS and surprisingly won with 3-1. GAIS started best but were unable to create any danger in front of the Falkenberg goal. Instead Falkenberg made the first goal after 21 minutes. After the goal the character of the game changed as Falkenberg dared to play with much more confidence. GAIS did not really threaten and it was apparent that the injury hit club has problems when the games are to close in time. However, on Saturday it is time for Falkenberg to play at home again and that is usually a quite different story which almost always ends with another defeat. Falkenberg has no players suspended and no injuries reported.
