Final reasons

Colchester has started the new campaign in a promising way and with two nice wins at home from two games played we fully believe that they will make it a third here. The fact that Colchester has played very well in these games wins The odds on this game is quite high but we stay at a stake on 2%, since it is early in the season and bearing in mind that Colchester lost to Chesterfield in their last game.

General comment about the game

On Saturday the English League One continues with the fifth round. One of the best teams so far Colchester, welcomes newcomer Doncaster to Layer Road. Colchester was a mid table team last year finishing on the 11thplace. The expectations this year are similar but the start of the campaign looks more promising than so. Colchester started with three wins before loosing last week away to Chesterfield. The three wins where very good with splendid play in periods. Especially the first half against Stockport where they had 3-0 at half time was very promising. In the Chesterfield game Colchester did not reach there normal standard and it did not become easier when they had defender Stephen Hunt (0 (1) apps, 0 goals) sent of when 20 minutes remained of the game. To the Doncaster game midfielder Bobby Bowry (2(0) apps, 0 goals) could be back in the starting line up. Still missing through injuries are captain and midfielder Karl Duguid, and midfielder Kem Izzet who has not played so far this year. Both suffer from knee injuries.

Doncaster was the winner of Division 3 last year and their main goal this year is to stabilise in the English League One.

After a win in the first round over Blackpool, which seems to be a real struggler, things hasn’t been perfect for Doncaster as they have lost twice and drawn once. The losses came on the road to Brentford and Bradford. Against Bradford Doncaster had most of the ball but they were not able to threaten the Bradford side with any sharp chances. In the last round against Tranmere the visitors dominated the game, but neither side managed to score. There have been some player changes in Doncaster ahead of this season. Most interesting is Guy Ipoua who has been playing in Gillingham for two seasons where he has managed to score 12 goals from 40 starts. In Doncaster however he has not scored yet. The team travelled towards Colchester already today and the only absentee is midfielder Adriano Rigoglioso (3(0) apps, 0 goals) who is suspended, otherwise the team is fully fit, and ready for the Saturday and Monday games.
