Northwich Victoria - Hereford, English Conference League

Pick:       Hereford

Stake:     2%

Odds:      2,00

Final reasons

Hereford is one of the favourites to win promotion this year. Their performances so far indicates that they will be fighting for a top spot, even if they got defeated last round. Today they will face one of the weakest teams in the Conference League, Northwich Victoria. Northwich got trashed by another promotion hopeful, Barnet in Saturday’s game. We do not believe that Hereford will go without a victory in both their game’s this long weekend. If they play as they did against Stevenage they will beat Northwich easily. 2% stake is suggested.

General comment about the game

Already today, the English Conference league continues. For the second time in a few days we will suggest a bet on promotion hopefuls Hereford. Two days ago they could not manage to score against a stubborn Stevenage. Hereford started the game in the same way they have been playing lately; with good tempo and confidence and by creating goal scoring opportunities. However, Stevenage’s goalkeeper made some good saves and the defence played solid. Stevenage first shot on goal came in first half’s injury time. The second half started as the first with Hereford the dominating side. However, the longer the match went on and the longer Stevenage’s fine defensive performance continued to deny Hereford any goal, the hosts became more and more frustrated. In the end Stevenage also had some good chances and in injury time they could score the winner from a long range shot. In the game, Hereford midfielder Daniel Williams (4 apps, 1 goal) limped off injured early on and he is a doubt for today’s game against Northwich Victoria. If he can not play he will most certainly be replaced by Robert Purdie (0(4) apps), who replaced him in the Stevenage game. Otherwise, Hereford has no new injury or suspension worries.

We also recommended a bet against Northwich Victoria two days ago. This was a winning one since Barnet did what they were supposed to do; trashing lowly Northwich with 4-0. The first goal came from a penalty kick which was caused by an incident that saw Northwich defender Peter Handyside being sent off. After that Barnet could cruise to an easy victory. The match showed that if Northwich does not do anything drastic they will face another year in the relegation zone. They have signed Stockport’s midfielder Fraser McLachlan for a one month loan spell. It is supposed that he should make things a bit easier during skipper Richard Forsyth’s (3 apps) absence. He could make his debut against Hereford. As said, Northwich will miss out on their skipper once again. They also have doubts over defender/midfielder Mark Foran (4 apps) who had to leave the field against Barnet injured and also striker Jon Allen (2 apps, 2 goals) is a doubt for today’s game against Hereford.
