Final reasons
Norrköping has set their eyes on Allsvenskan next year
and in order to get there they must win games like this. Last weeks 6-1 against
second placed Gefle was very impressing and now, with
some players returning from suspensions and injuries, they will press the win
button again. New signing Pierre Gallo was very valuable last game and we can’t
see why he will not lead Norrköping to another
victory against Västra Frölunda,
who is out of form and has nothing to play for. We stake 3% on a home win.
General comment about the game
This Sunday afternoon Norrköping welcomes Västra Frölunda to a game in the Swedish Superettan. Norrköping is chasing the play off spot, and a win today is
therefore very important. Historically Norrköping is
one of the best clubs in Swedish footballs, with 12 titles in Allsvenskan.
Since a couple of years they reside in Superettan and life down there has not
been easy for the club to handle since everybody who support the team has
demanded them to get back to Allsvenskan as fast as possible. This pressure has
not been good for the team and especially last year this pressure made them
perform so bad that they were closer to get relegated than promoted. However, this
year things have been better for Norrköping and they
are now one of the teams with a fair chance of grabbing the playoff spot. Last
round Norrköping made an astonishing performance when
they beat second placed Gefle with 6-1. Norrköping
had a new signing in midfielder Pierre Gallo from Landskrona
in that game and he worked perfectly in the middle and it is very likely that
he will be that signing that Norrköping needs in
order to reach Allsvenskan. Today Norrköping has
midfielder Mikael Blomberg
suspended. Out with injuries are striker Renato Braga, defender Gudmundur Mete
and midfielder Rodrigo Pontes. These players have been out for a while and Norrköping has other good players on these positions so
that should be a minor problem.
Västra Frölunda is also a
team that has played several years in Allsvenskan but for the last couple of
years they have been in Superettan. Frölunda is a
team that builds its team from a very strong youth department. Often these home
made players leaves Frölunda for better sides, but Frölunda always seems to find new and impressing youngsters
and therefore they keep on being a good side. However this year things have not
been that bright for Frölunda and they now reside on
a mid table position with nothing to play for more than honour. They have lost
seven from the last ten games and of course this is not a team that is working well
for the moment. Last round they lost at home to Åtvidaberg with 2-1, in a game
where they played really bad and without any inspiration. Frölunda
will miss defender Mats Hedén and midfielder Peter Nyström today.
