Final reasons
In form Bristol City welcomes Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow. Sheffield is a team that seems a bit on or off since they have very mixed results so far. We believe that this mix won’t help against a full speed Bristol City aiming for promotion. We stake 2% on the home side, and the reason for the smaller stake is the recent cup game for Bristol City.
General comment about the game
After a slow start Bristol City now has started to play very good football and they now reside on position number six and if they can continue in the same way through the rest of the season they surely will get a playoff spot - at least. However, tomorrow Bristol City faces Sheffield Wednesday at home and with nine games in a row without losing, they surely will go for another win tomorrow. Bristol has showed terrific form recently and last week Wrexham was beaten with 3-1 on the road. Bristol also had a midweek clash, as they had a FA Cup game against Brentford. Brentford won on penalties, since 120 minutes of normal play could not separate the two sides. The Bristol City starting line up was quite different and only four players from last weekend’s game started against Brentford. This means that there should be a very little risk for tired legs tomorrow when they go back to a more normal line up. Bristol City has defender Tony Butler (14 apps, 1 goal) out with suspension. There has been minor injuries during the week but now most players seems to be available, only defender Mickey Bell (7(2) apps, 1 goal) is to have late fitness test ahead of the game.
Tenth placed Sheffield Wednesday is a very inconsistent team that frequently mix their performances. With this said it is easy to realise that Sheffield W is a team that sometimes works a little bit better and sometimes things do not work at all. According to their coach it is wrong to have any higher expectations on the team since they are young and the team will have to play together for a longer period before things will work as expected. They now have two straight victories over struggling Stockport and poor traveller Hartlepool. Sheffield dominated the game against Hartlepool and winning 2-0 was quite fair since Hartlepool made a very dull impression on the day. Manager Paul Sturrock is hoping to have striker Adam Proudlock (10(3) apps, 4 goals) back from injury but this is not sure yet. Definitely out is midfielders Chris Marsden (15 apps) and Paul Smith (7(1) apps) and forward Lee Peacock (7(1) apps, 1 goal).
