Final reasons

Highflying Luton welcomes poor traveller Doncaster. We fully believe in a home victory here, nothing talks of the reverse. We stake 4% with confidence.

General comment about the game

Luton is the most outstanding team in the English League One. Tomorrow they face newcomer Doncaster at home, and we see no indication of any downtrend in Luton. After the bad results some weeks ago, Luton now have four very impressing games in a row including the FA Cup win against Southend. Last game away to MK Dons was won with 4-1 after a superb display. Luton worked hard for each other and for the moment they have no problems to score. Against MK Dons striker Steve Howard was the man of the match as he made a hat trick. Midfielder Steve Robinson (16 apps, 3 goals) will once again be unavailable as he will be out until Christmas with injury. Otherwise it looks as there will not be any major changes in the Luton starting line.

Doncaster resides on the twelfth spot for the moment and being a newcomer this must be considered as quite OK. However this success has mainly been reached because of good results at home. So far Doncaster has not lost at home. On the road however they have lost six out of nine games. The points taken on the road has been against quite bad opponents as both Barnsley and MK Dons struggle at home. Chesterfield is however a good home side so getting a draw against them was meriting for Doncaster. In the last round Doncaster won at home against poor Stockport. But it was Stockport who started best and when Doncaster made 1-0 this was a little surprising. However, after the goal Doncaster dominated the rest of the half. In the second half Stockport got an early equaliser, but Doncaster went forward and could score two goals in the second half and win the game. Doncaster’s manager was satisfied with the display but their defensive work sometimes becomes too shaky. This was the case when Stockport got their goal. Doncaster has club captain and defender Stephen Foster (10 apps) together with fellow defender Nicolas Priet (5 apps) missing through injury, otherwise most players should be available.
