General comment about the game
Fifth placed Shrewsbury welcomes 12th placed Burton to a rescheduled game in the Conference league. Shrewsbury was relegated from division three last year and of course their aim this year is to make a fast return to the higher level. Shrewsbury has been just under the top teams during the whole season and if they will fulfil their plans to reach in to the playoffs, a game like this is a must. They have a good home record with 9 wins from 13 games and only one loss so far. In the last four home games they have two wins and two draws, and of course these two draws against mid table teams are not impressing. Last weekend however they made a very good performance against Scarborough and manager Jimmy Quinn was very pleased with the most of what he had seen, especially the play in the second half . Scarborough was the team that started to score and they were up 1-0 at half time. In the second half Shrewsbury played very well and with a little extra attitude they started to create more chances and in the end of the game they had scored four goals. If Shrewsbury can keep on playing as they did in the second half, they surely will move towards the top. So why not bring these positive feelings with them to the Burton game, and they surely will make it another home win. Since they have no players suspended and no players injured they will be able to start with the same line up as against Scarborough.
Burton has been in a bad period lately with four losses and two draws from seven games. Last weekend Burton played away to Exeter, another team playing in the third division last year. The game ended with an Exeter victory with 2-0, after 1-0 at half time. Exeter was the better team and although some good chances from the Burton side it was closer to 3-0 than 2-1. To this game manager Nigel Clough will be without a number of players, these are; defender Steve Chettle (17 apps, 1 goal), defender Terry Henshaw (26 apps, 0 goals), defender Ian Wright (8 apps, 1 goal), midfielder and also captain Darren Stride (21 apps, 4 goals) and striker Glenn Kirkwood (14 apps, 2 goals).
Since Burton seems unstable for the moment and since they have some players missing we think that playoff chasing Shrewsbury will manage another home win here. However since Shrewsbury has some less impressing results lately we go for a smaller stake here although their good home record. Stake 3% on the home win.
