General comment about the game

On Saturday 10th placed Bournemouth will be visited by 17th placed Oldham in English division two. Bournemouth continues to impress at home. They have now four straight victories at the Fitness First Stadium. When looking at some of their opponents in these matches it is even more impressive; 3rd placed Queens Park Rangers, 5th placed Port Vale and strong travellers Wrexham. In midweek Bournemouth played against Wrexham and the visitors got trashed by 6-0! In this game Bournemouth striker James Hayter got historic when he shot the fastest hat trick ever; 140 seconds!! Bournemouth made two psychological goals in the first half; the first in the third minute and second just before half time. In second half the Bournemouth players showed their determination to keep the clean sheet and when striker Warren Feeney scored the third goal the victory was never in danger. The team will get a boost by the news that central defender Karl Broadhurst (28 apps, 1 goal) is fit again after having to sit out their last two matches. He will be the only change in the squad that face Oldham tomorrow.

Oldham is in lower mid table quite safe above the relegation battle. Their away record is one of the worst in the division only managing one win and that was against bottom of the table Wycombe back in September. The only positive about their away record is that they loose less often than the other bad away teams. However, now they have two consecutive defeats away. Last game was a draw at home against Tranmere. The visitors equalised in the final minutes so the home team was quite disappointed not to have grabbed all three points. Oldham will get back midfielder Jermaine Johnson (12 apps, 3 goals) and defender Dean Holden (25 apps, 2 goals) for contention for the game against Bournemouth. Important midfielder Paul Murray (27 apps, 3 goals) has been a doubt in the last couple of days but is now very likely to be fit for Saturday’s match. However, defender Danny Hill (26 apps, 1 goal) is still sidelined with injury.

Strong home team Bournemouth now has a real chance of making it five straight home wins. After midweek’s discharge against Wrexham we believe that the team will have the confidence and strength to win once more. Oldham is to bad playing on the road to disturb Bournemouth’s good spell. However, considering that Oldham have more players available than for a long time and that the team often draw away we keep the stake at a medium level, 3%.
