General comment about the game
Promotion chasers Swindon will be visited by struggling Brentford on Saturday in the English division two. High flying Swindon has managed to win six games in a row at home. They have also two wins and two draws away making it ten consecutive unbeaten matches. This puts them in top of the ten match form table. Also, they have put themselves in a nice position in the league, currently in fourth place. The gap to the top three has also become smaller and a direct promotion place is not unrealistic anymore. In midweek they played against Tranmere at home and won comfortable with 2-0 after two goals from in form striker Sam Parkin (26(1) apps, 15 goals). Manager Andy King was very pleased after the game; obviously happy to win but also because they played very good football for some periods during the game that enjoyed their manager. No new injury or suspension worries for the Swindon team. Only absentee will once again be midfielder Steve Robinson (20(2) apps, 2 goals). He is still recovering from the injury he sustained in late January.
Brentford is struggling at the moment. They are at the bottom of the form table (10 matches) and this has made them fall quickly down the overall table. Currently they reside in 20th place only one point clear of the drop zone. Their away form is even worse. Since their last victory away in mid November they have played eight games and only collected three points. In midweek they played away to strong home team Brighton. The game ended in a disappointing 0-1 defeat. Brentford play quite well at moments and was near a goal in first half. However, they lack the final cut and after Brighton took the lead they could not create the necessary pressure to get an equaliser. Brentford has two injury doubts ahead of Saturday’s clash. Most important is of course their leading goal scorer Steven Hunt (27(2) apps, 9 goals) who is facing a race against time to be fit again. He has been ruled out in the team’s three latest games. Also defender Andrew Frampton (7(3) apps, 0 goal) is facing a late fitness test. Brentford has recently taken out of favour Colchester defender Scott Fitzgerald on trial. He will be available for picking on Saturday.
We strongly believe that Swindon’s fine form will continue and that they will collect another victory at home on County Ground on Saturday. They will face a struggling out of shape Brentford that has three straight defeats away. Swindon has scored 23 goals in their ten last games and on only one occasions missed to score twice or more. Brentford has under the same period scored eleven times and has doubts once again over their leading goal scorer. Swindon will not miss this opportunity to strengthen their promotion bid. High stake, 4% is suggested.
