General comment about the game
Highflying Brighton will meet up against Colchester in one of Saturday afternoon’s games in the English division 2. Brighton is in really good form. They are unbeaten from the last six games managing four wins. At home they are even stronger managing five straight wins and seven wins from nine attempts. In all they have one of the strongest home records in the league. Their recent run has put them right back in the promotion race in a position were they have it all in their own hands. At the moment it seems like the gap between them and the top teams fighting for direct promotion is too big, but they are getting closer. In midweek they played away against relegation battlers Chesterfield. Even if the hosts had quite good form, Brighton managed to grab their first win on the road since November. It turned out to be a comfortable game for Brighton who sealed the win by two goals in second half. The second goal was a brilliant long shot from debutant striker Chris Iwelumo who signed a loan deal from first division team Stoke just two days before the game. As it seems he will definitely be a boost for the Brighton team when coming into the final stages of the season especially since Trevor Benjamin has returned to Leicester. There are no new injury or suspension worries for the Brighton manager Mark McGhee.
Colchester resides in the middle of the table, currently on 14th place. For the moment they are quite safe from the relegation battle and too far away from the playoff race. However, if they continue in the way they have been going lately they will soon be nearer the drop zone. They have only managed to win two games from their latest 14 played. The victories came against relegation battlers Stockport and Grimsby. Especially bad is their away form with only two points since October. Furthermore, during this period they have a remarkable record of not being able to score a single goal when playing away. In midweek they played at home against bottom of the table Wycombe. The match began really well for Colchester since they got a penalty kick after just eight minutes. Striker Craig Fagan made no mistake. Colchester continued to perform well and was near a second goal just ten minutes after. However, after that Wycombe took a firm grip over the match and five minutes before halftime they scored the equaliser. The second half was dull with both teams performing badly. No new injury or suspension worries for the Colchester squad.
We are confident that Brighton will win this match. They are in good form and with high confidence after their recent good run. They face a Colchester team that is out of shape and that has not scored away since October. High stake, 4% is suggested.
