Final reasons
Halmstad is the most consistent team in Sweden so far this season with very good performances by many players. So far they have four wins out of five games and we believe that they will grab another one today when facing an inconsistent Landskrona. We stake 3% on a home win.
General comment about the game
In the Swedish Allsvenskan there are three Sunday games and we have picked Halmstad against Landskrona as the most interesting game today. Halmstad was one of our picks earlier this week and as we believed they made a very solid impression when facing AIK in Stockholm as they went home with a 2-0 victory. AIK did not manage to disturb them at all and the victory could have been even bigger. To this game Halmstad has two defenders missing through injury, Joel Borgstrand and Per Johansson. Both of them has played all games so far, but since the key to Halmstad’s great defence is the two central defenders the absence of these two wing backs are of minor importance. The Halmstad play is build up around a great midfield with Mikael Nilsson, Sharbel Touma and Magnus Svensson as hard working and skilfull engines and we fully believe that they will dominate also today. In last game when right back Borgstrand had to go off because of the injury he sustained, midfielder Nilsson took a step down and replaced him. Fellow midfielder Svensson did the same manoeuvre when left back Johansson had to go off. These changes were made when Halmstad had a comfortable 2-0 lead, so therefore the manager thought he would have better need for two of his midfield giants in the defensive line up. We do not think it is likely that the two midfielder’s will continue as wing backs in the game today.
Landskrona has started the new season a bit shaky. So far they have grabbed one win and two draws from five attempts. One of their biggest problems so far has been the lack of sharpness in front of goal. Landskrona has created a number of chances but has had problems to score. Two weeks ago in their most recent away match Landskrona made a very disappointing performance when loosing in the derby against Trelleborg with 2-1. However, last weekend they played against a decimated Djurgården and made a much better performance and won with 2-0 after playing some good football. It must be mentioned that two of Djurgården’s best and most important players were out with injuries, and this was one of the reasons that Landskrona got hold of the midfield play and therefore could create the attacking football. To the Halmstad game Landskrona only has striker Jones Kusi-Asare doubtful because of a minor injury on one of his hands but no other important players are missing.
